An example programme Feedback on our programme Mrs P Young, Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Officer, John Wallis Academy "I have loved getting involved with Paula to run this project. I myself ran a program for the students struggling to settle in year 7. It has been perfectly timed to further help them settle into secondary while freeing up my time and also creating some independence for the young person. It's been wonderful seeing them form these relationships and growing in confidence around the school. I can see some of the 6th form really embracing their role - having learned skills that they will hold onto for life. It's been a win win situation for all parties involved! If any other school is thinking about this project my advice would be to say YES!" Student mentees from years 7 and 8 "I like having an older person at school to talk to. I wouldn't have that if I hadn't been on this project." "I feel better around school now." "My 6th former really understand me, and I like waving hi when we pass in the corridors." "The lady that runs it is really nice and made me feel welcome."
